About the tutor

Sadaf Yousuf has taught Computer Science and ICT for over 20 years and has been Head of an IT Department since 2005. She holds an MS in Computer Science and a specialised diploma in networking, and has mentored more than 20,000 students across 22,000 teaching hours.

Her particular expertise is the practical side: the management and evaluation of student projects for practical examinations — the component that most often decides a Computer Science grade. She has taught both in schools and online throughout, and prefers students to write and debug real code rather than read about it.

Education

MS in Computer Science, with a specialised diploma in networking and a further diploma in computer science. Organiser of inter-school cyber fairs and photography competitions alongside her departmental role.

Teaching style

Sadaf teaches through projects, pairing the theory with code the student actually writes.

  • Programming taught step by step

Clear code walkthroughs build problem-solving rather than leaving syntax to be memorised.

  • Extensive project supervision

Practical exam projects are supervised end to end — the component where marks are most often thrown away.

  • Customised lesson plans

Pacing adapts to the individual, which matters in a subject where students arrive with wildly different backgrounds.

  • Regular assessment and tracking

Progress is measured consistently rather than discovered at the mock.

  • Exam technique and time management

Computer Science papers are as much a timing problem as a knowledge problem, and are taught that way.
