John A. Fernandes

John A. Fernandes has spent more than 10 years teaching English in international schools, where he has served as both subject head and senior teacher. He knows the Cambridge curriculum from the inside, having completed several Cambridge International certifications covering resource development and differentiated learning. That grounding shapes how he reads a mark scheme and, more importantly, how he explains one to a student.

His lessons pair close reading with disciplined writing practice. Students learn to build an argument, support it with well-chosen evidence and express it in language that examiners reward. Beyond the classroom he has coached students to success in debating competitions and Model United Nations, and he has edited a school newsletter. That experience feeds directly into the way he teaches voice, structure and audience.

John holds an MBA and has completed multiple Cambridge International certifications, including the Resource Development Programme and Differentiated Learning, alongside senior appointments as a subject head and senior teacher.

He teaches with an examiner's eye, working backwards from what a top-band response actually looks like.
