Maha Farooq came to teaching from clinical practice. She graduated as a gold medallist in Audiology and Speech Language Therapy, then spent several years in hospitals and therapy centres working with children who have autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment and a range of communication needs.
That work gave her two things her students benefit from: an unusually detailed grasp of how the human body and nervous system function, and the patience to explain a difficult idea a second and a third way. Across 5 years and more than 15,000 hours of tuition she has learned to spot exactly where a learner has lost the thread.
